Shrimp And Crab Legs With Spicy Tomato Sauce

Ingredients:
Sauce
1 small onion, finely chopped
4 shallots, finely chopped
1/4 cup fresh lime juice (about 3 medium limes)
 8-ounce can no-salt-added tomato sauce
1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/8 teaspoon black pepper Shrimp and Crab Legs
1 pound shrimp, unpeeled
1 pound snow crab legs, frozen
8 cups water
1/2 cup dry white wine or nonalcoholic white wine
 2 teaspoons coriander seeds
 2 bay leaves
1 teaspoon whole allspice
1 teaspoon black peppercorns

Instructions:
To prepare sauce, combine the onion, shallots, and lime juice in a medium mixing bowl. Let sit at room temperature for 15 minutes. Add the remaining sauce ingredients. Stir to combine. Refrigerate until ready to use.

In a large stockpot, combine water, wine, coriander, bay leaves, allspice, and peppercorns. Bring to a boil over high heat, then lower to medium heat and simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes.

Add the shrimp and simmer, uncovered, for 2 to 3 minutes, or until shrimp is pink and cooked through; do not overcook!

With a slotted spoon, place shrimp in a colander to drain; reserve liquid. Place the frozen crab legs in the simmering water and cook over medium-low heat, covered, for 20 to 30 minutes, or until crab is warmed through. Remove with slotted spoon rom water and place in a colander to drain.

You can serve the seafood hot or cold. Arrange it on a large platter and accompany with the sauce.
