Basic CornBread

 


Ingredients:
1 cup unbleached flour
1 cup cornmeal
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon onion flakes
1/2/ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 cup skim milk
1/4 cup fat-free egg substitute
2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions:
Coat an 8"x 8" baking pan with nonstick spray.
In a large bowl,mix the flour,cornmeal,baking powder,thyme,onion flakes and pepper.
In a small bowl, mix the milk,egg and oil.Pour over the flour mixture.Mix with rubber spatula until the dry ingredients are moistened;do not over mix.
Spread in the prepared pan.
Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes,or until a cake tester inserted in the middle comes out clean.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time:20 minutes
