HELSINKI, Finland, March 8 (UPI) -- Members of the Finnish Parliament are making history by suggesting eligible adults be allowed "love leave" to spend more time with loved ones.
Parliament Member Tommy Tabermann said by discussing the possibility of "love leave" for adults across Finland, Finnish politicians were moving into uncharted territory, The Independent said Saturday.
"Next week we are making history talking about love in the Parliament," the Social Democrat said.
Tabermann made a point of detailing what the week-long leave from work would be available for and what would not count as an acceptable prerequisite.
"It is not a sex leave, but in a much wider sense gives people a chance to maintain their relationships," the parliamentary official said.
The politicians are also set to discuss new ways to teach children how to "be human" through the country's schools to avoid problems in the future, the newspaper said.
