Divorce Insurance For Pets
Stella and
Jason Hulott have around 50 pets and many more creatures in their home
in Kent, England, which doubles as an animal rescue center.
They are paying
$150 a year for an insurance policy that will pay for a lawyer for the
animals should the couple divorce and argue over their custody, the British
Broadcasting Corp. reports.
The Hulotts
have drawn up an amicable agreement over who gets custody of which pets
-- Stella gets the five cats and Jason gets the smaller animals.
However, they
realize arguments might ensue despite the agreement so they have taken
the insurance policy to give the animals a legal voice in any custody battle.
