LONDON, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Many women already know what a British study reported Friday -- juggling job and family means moms work an equivalent of an extra 120 hours a year.
The London School of Economics study also found that working mothers lose out on performance-related pay because men have an easier time working overtime, The Daily Telegraph reported.
"If you count the effects of the pressures, how they have increased, and look at their statistical effect, the strain of working like this is equivalent to working an extra 120 hours a year," said Patrick McGovern, lead author of the report.
McGovern said new legislation that would allow women to ask for flexible work hours could improve their lot, "but it depends (on) employers."
